Privacy policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and what we never do with it. The short version: we only use your details to get your order to you.

Who we are

The Perfume Factory sells designer-inspired fragrances online at theperfumefactory.co.uk and at markets and events across the North West. You can reach us any time at [email protected].

What we collect and why

When you place an order we collect your name, delivery address, email address and phone number — we need these to deliver your order, send you order updates and handle any returns. We keep order records for six years, as UK tax law requires.

Payments

Card payments are handled by Stripe, our payment processor. Your card details go directly to Stripe over an encrypted connection — we never see or store your card number. Stripe’s privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy.

Emails

We send emails about your order (confirmation, dispatch, refunds). If you ask us to tell you when a scent is back in stock, we use your email for that one notification. If you leave a basket behind, we may send you a single reminder. We don’t send marketing emails unless you’ve asked for them, and every non-essential email has an unsubscribe route — or just reply and we’ll sort it.

Cookies

We only use cookies that make the shop work: they remember what’s in your basket and keep your checkout session secure. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. Our visitor statistics are collected anonymously on our own server, without cookies and without identifying you.

Sharing

We share your details only with the people who help us get your order to you: Stripe (payment) and Royal Mail (delivery). We never sell your data.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (where the law doesn’t require us to keep it). Email [email protected] and we’ll respond within a month. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
